Ansel Adams took this picture of the Tetons and Snake River back in 1942:

On a recent trip to Grand Teton, I woke up at the crack of dawn and attempted to recreate Ansel's picture. Unlike Ansel, I have a gazillion megapixels; the ability to alter those megapixels in Photoshop; and I didn't have to carry a heavy camera around the wilderness on my back but instead hopped out of a heated car on a cold morning. His picture moves me; my picture is so-so. Ansel was a god.
