FROGGY'S WORLD

new jake photos

Lisa has added lots of pictures of Jake in his online photo album including his first time in a big boy swing, and his first time in a canoe:

a full day

Yesterday, on the 623rd day of his life (20+ months old), Jake did something we weren't sure was possible. He went an entire day without crying once! (Well, at least he didn't cry in the morning or evening with us - it's entirely possible he cried at daycare during the day).

It's a first! To make sure it didn't become a trend, he kicked off this morning crying when his Dad changed his diaper.

Papa Shel, Grandma Leelee, and Aunt Mindy all took a chance to read with Jake over Thanksgiving.

a ladies man

All the little girls wanted to sit next to Jake when we set up for this photo shoot.

balancing balls

One of Jake's favorite activities is to play with his Cheerios book. The game works with Mommy or Daddy placing Cheerios on various pages of the book, and then he laughs and eats them up!

Despite the fact that this book was a gift from his grandparents, I'm not sure some of the text is appropriate for children. How did the editor miss this?! :-)

grammie & grampa

My parents came to visit in early June to get some quality time with their littlest grandson, and Jake took to them right away! I was worried that with all his issues of separation anxiety (or "mommy-itis") that he wouldn't warm up to them quickly. But he proved me wrong. It probably helped that they brought him a big, cool wagonful of giant lego blocks :-)

Every morning when they came downstairs, Jake would look at them like, "Who are you, and what are you doing in my house?" but then they'd make a silly face or noise at him and the ice would be broken. By the end of their visit, he was actually making bids for their attention as much as (if not more) than he did for mine & Ben's. It was cute.
